On December 1st, 2009, hairdressers of different cities will develop actions on behalf of the International Day. Our efforts are towards stimulate these actions , giving them all the support, information and materials necessary to spread out the prevention message. In 2009, we have iniatives in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre, Brasília, Salvador, Campinas and Belo Horizonte. Our main objective in 2010 is to increase the number of hairdressers envolved in the campaing, increasing the network created worldwide.
In Brazil, we launched the campaign in 2006 and since then we have been developing many actions all over the country, including the constant trainings of the education departments, participation on professional fairs and innovative actions that served as reminders of prevention. One of our latest actions was Hairdressers Against AIDS Calendar with brazilian celebrities (see document attached), launched last year, with a lot of free publicity. Since it was a huge success, we´re doing it again this year. We´ll let you know. In 2009, we reaffirmed the partnership with UNESCO and the Brazilian Health Ministry. They´re helping us to recreate the trainings, given by the education departments, including new messages through the testimony of HIV positive people. Through the testimony of people living and feeling HIV/AIDS, we want to bring awareness to our public. Meanwhile, this year we decided to stimulate and support some clients initiatives all over Brazil. We have many clients that voluntarily organize actions on behalf of December 1st. We are supporting them, providing the material needed, some coaching on HIV/AIDS (with UNESCO) and advertising their initiatives on professional magazines. For our internal public, this year we´re launching an internal campaign that will promote the individual initiative of every PPD employee to spread the prevention message on the professional market. This campaign will end up on December 1st, with every PPD member dressing up a T-Shirt saying: “I embrace this campaign”. Meanwhile, for L´Oréal colleagues from the other divisions we will organize some lectures on prevention, since we believe that we should be concerned with our internal public the same way we´re with our external public. This way will strengthen the campaign even more through out the years.
